Kadin and Delanie are growing up so fast!!!! They turned 4 in June and are doing great! We have had a great summer playing outside, going to Illinois to visit family, going to Mark Twain Lake a couple times, going to the City Museum in St. Louis, going to Demolition Derby's, and of course their favorite place to go is MawMaw and PawPaw's house!!! They were in a wedding in September and did a wonderful job. They had a blast at the reception and danced the entire time!

Happy Easter Everyone!!! Kadin and Delanie had a wonderful Easter this year! They really get excited about everything now. They are both getting so big and grown up. We are in the process of moving Kadin into his new room. He will share a room with his big brother Cole. The bunk beds are up and we still need to put the Cardinal decorations up. Delanie will stay in their old room and PawPaw finished her new trundle bed. I can't wait to get it all set up and put her new bed stuff on and the stickers on the walls. They both are really excited about it, but we will really see how excited they are when it's time to sleep in separate rooms.

Well the summer is over and fall is here!!! Kadin and Delanie are so much fun and they really enjoyed their summer. They both are getting so big and grown up. They say the funniest things and really keep us entertained. Delanie loves to sing and dance, she even makes up her own songs. She really never stops talking. One day she fell and said "ouch I hurt my feelings" She came and asked me to kiss her feelings. They always try to beat each other at the dinner table and one night daddy beat them and Kadin slammed his fist on the table and said "OH Bumper" When they are playing together they make up games and act all excited and say "oh gracious"

They have been potty trained since Memorial Weekend and have done great! Delanie had no problem getting it down. Kadin only had poop issues, but that is over now! They aren't even wearing pull-ups at night!!!!
They love going to the shop with daddy (more Kadin), they love working on tires, riding the tractor, riding bikes and crashing with each other, they love going to the neighbors and feeding the chickens. Delanie is very outgoing and strong spoken. Kadin is laid back and takes his time doing anything and soft spoken, unless he is making motor sounds. Kadin is becoming the little flirt though, he tells pretty girls "hey babe, how you doin" it was the funniest thing to hear out of his mouth. Their other favorite thing to do is go to Maw Maw and Paw Paws. I think they both have them wrapped around their little fingers!

We have been working on our ABC's and trying to learn to write them. Delanie calls it her "Homework" I can't believe they are almost 3 1/2 years old. Where did the time go? I want them to do pre-school next year and I will have to find a job to afford it, but man it is going to be hard. Here are a bunch of pictures from the summer!!! Kadin and Delanie turned 3 on June 13th. We had a family birthday party and they had a blast! A few days later they went to their 3 year check up and they both are doing great. Can't even tell they were 8 weeks premature.

Delanie weighs 27.2 lbs. and is 35 1/4 in.

Kadin weighs 29.1 lbs. and is 36 1/2 in.

Since their birthday we have been busy. They enjoyed the 4th of July fireworks and parades. I think we have enough candy for Halloween and Easter. They both are so smart and funny. They tell us about things that I didn't even know they knew about, like at one of the parades Kadin had to pee, so Darrin took him to pee behind a little brick wall. Kadin tells Darrin that is like the Humpty Dumpty Wall. I don't ever really remember telling them that story, and if I did it was a long long long time ago. Hope everyone enjoys their summer, I know we will!

Well after reading my friends blog about potty training her quads, I thought I can do this with my twins. So I decided to take the kids to pick out their underwear/panties and the next morning (May 18) the kids were excited to start wearing them. I took the diapers away cold turkey. We stayed in the house for 3 days and no company for 3 days. Surprisingly they did wonderful. The first day there were no accidents until about 5:00 pm. and that was Kadin. The first 4 nights I didn't put pull up on, just their underwear/panties. They did have accidents then and it wouldn't wake them up and I started feeling bad not knowing how long they had laid there with wet pants. So I decided to use pull-ups at night. Day 2 was the worst, it was like they forgot what they learned the day before. By the end of day 3 it was working great. Delanie was going by herself and going #2 in the potty. Kadin had to be reminded more and since he has constipation problems anyway going #2 was more difficult. Now it has been over 2 weeks and both are doing great!!! They both tell me when they have to go and Kadin is going #2 in the potty! Yeeeee Haaaaa!

Easter 2010 and Updates

Kadin and Delanie had a great Easter with family and great weather! They loved finding the eggs and loved the candy even more! We took the binky away from Kadin on April 1 and he hasn't had it since. He doesn't even ask for it anymore! Delanie on the other hand is still sucking her fingers. I've put the nasty tasting stuff on her nails but she still sucks them. They are loving the weather and love to play outside! Delanie can peddle her trike and Kadin doesn't like to peddle. They are just getting so big and will be 3 on June 13, it will be here before we know it!

Kadin and Delanie are doing great. They are getting so big and grown up. They talk all the time and say the darnedest things. They are really starting to play with each other and loving it. They use their imaginations all the time. Kadin puts Delanies princess tierra on upside down over his eyes and says he's a race car driver, he then sits at the end of his bed with his feet through the holes of the foot board and uses a tinker wheel for a steering wheel, but last night we noticed something new, he put the letter O's and P's magnets on all four legs of his bed and called them his wheels. Delanie follows along with it all. She loves to play dress up and last night she told me she was a mommy too. She has seen my sister breastfeed her new baby so now that is how Delanie feeds her baby dolls. She doesn't miss or forget anything. They are also using big words. Daddy fed them supper the other night and Kadin said "daddy this is delicious" Darrin asked me later if I had said that to them earlier in the day and No, I never use that word. Delanie told me the other day that her hair was beautiful. They are so much fun and we can't wait for SPRING!!!! These pictures were taken in Aug. 2009 by Aunt Sheila.

Kadin and Delanie has a wonderful Christmas and a good New Year. They loved all the lights and had fun pointing out every single house that had lights. On Christmas morning Delanie woke up first and then she woke Kadin up. They didn't know daddy and I were awake listening to them. Delanie talked Kadin into going to the living room with her. When they walked in you could hear the excitement in their voices. "Ho Ho was here, he left pink presents and blue presents" " He ate the cookies and milk too" Then they sat on the couch having their own conversation about all the presents. Then Kadin got Delanie a pink one and he picked up one of Coles and headed to the couch. Mommy and daddy had to come out then. I think they would have opened every present without us.

PEBBLES and BAM BAM

Delanie really liked getting dressed in costume, Kadin was just ok with it. During the day we went to the Fall Festival and walked around. They did a really good job and didn't complain one time, but they were scared of most of the other costumes, even the big ELMO. Later that evening we went Trick or Treating and they wouldn't say trick or treat but they did say Thank You everytime! I think their favorite is suckers.

This year was totally different from last year. Kadin didn't want anything to do with the pumpkin guts. Delanie couldn't keep her hand out of the pumpkin, but they both liked playing in it once it was in the bucket.

We had fun at the Pumpkin Patch. At first they act so shy and just stare at everyone. They are getting so big and talking so much. They ask lots of questions and want to know everything. I was going through Cole's clothes in his room so Kadin and Delanie were in there with me, I let them play Demolition Derby on the PlayStation and Kadin told me "Mommy, I having FUN" The happy look on his face was priceless. Delanie acts like the wild child in the evenings and Darrin and I can't figure out where this came from. I've noticed she does it when he gets home, so I thing she is just so excited to see Daddy and loves to show off and get all the attention! We all have been good and hopefully stay healthy this winter. Hope everyone else stays healthy out there.

This is Labor Day Weekend, I took them to a washer tournament/truck/tractor pull. They had a blast and were soooo good. In this picture Kadin is watching a truck pull and he would not get out of the stroller, all he cared about was the trucks and tractors.

Kadin and Delanie are doing so good. They are still happy about going to bed. They stay in their own bed all night. They take good naps still, I just couldn't ask for better sleepers. In the mornings they come wake me up and most of the time we snuggle in my bed. On these dark rainy days they sleep till 8:30-9:00am.

They love to ride their little big wheels and crash them, they love working on derby cars with daddy, and they have 2 new kittens they love to play with. Hopefully soon they will start going potty in the big potty, they don't show much interest in it yet. And this weekend we will be putting them in toddler beds.

Happy Birthday my special girl! You are 2 years old now. These past 2 years have flown bye so fast. You are getting so big and you have no fear. You've been in a cast and you've had your first bloody nose already. You never let anything keep you down. You are always smiling and goofing off. You love to laugh and make others laugh. You also love to aggravate your brother. You love Elmo and love to dance. You can dance to all music and try to sing all songs. You have started to be lovie dovie with me, but you can't sit still very long. You are also very polite and say bless you, please, thank you, your welcome, and I love you. When daddy walks in the door you run to him and try to tell him all about your day! You love to play in the water and you had a blast when we went to the pool. You have went potty in the big potty a couple of times. You also love riding your bikes with Kadin and crashing them. At your Child Development appointment you blew everyone away! You did way more than expected and you did it fast! You can say over 85 words and you also say 3 word sentences. Dr. Bob was also impressed with you! Your weight was 22.6 lbs. you are 32 3/4 in. tall and your head was 46.2 cm. Delanie, mommy and daddy love you very much!

Dear Kadin,

Happy Birthday my special boy. You are 2 years old now. I can't believe how fast these 2 years have went. It feels like yesterday you were so tiny. You are growing so fast and learning all kinds of things. You repeat everything we say, especially the last word. You are still my lovie dovie boy though. You love to give me hugs and kisses for no reason. You don't really like to kiss and hug sissy though. You are very polite and say excuse me, thank you, please, bless you, your welcome, and you are starting to say yes and no mam and sir. Your favorite thing to do is play with cars, trucks, and tractors. You will sit at the dining room table playing cars for the longest time, as long as Delanie leaves you alone. You love to scream Bye Bye to daddy when he leaves, it's like a screaming match. We took you to the pool and you were a little leery at first but at the end you didn't want to leave. You also love to look at pictures and you love to watch racing and crash (demolition derbies) on tv. You can say over 85 words and you say 3 word sentences, the Child Development staff were very impressed. I think you are going to be a lefty like mommy. You have a very good arm and daddy is very excited about that. Dr. Bob was also very happy with how well you are doing. Your weight was 25 lbs. You are 33 in. tall, and your head is 48.5 cm. See I told you, you're getting BIG! Kadin, mommy and daddy love you very much!

We went to Darrin's Aunt Theresa's wedding reception and Delanie danced like this the entire night. She finally sat down when it was the last song. She will be the life of the party when she grows up. That means major trouble for us!!!

Kadin and Delanie love the sprinkler. They run up to it and just giggle, it is the cutest thing to watch.

I love this picture, she couldn't point and shoot the other direction so she kept shooting herself.

As you can see the cast isn't slowing her down one bit!!!

On June 11 we took Delanie back to the orthopedic pediatrician. They took the cast off and re-x-rayed it. They still could not see that it was broken anywhere. (great) They are not sure why she wouldn't walk or stand on it, but being in the cast for 3 weeks must have fixed the problem. They did not put another cast on her, we just have to keep an eye on her for 3 weeks to make sure she isn't crawling or acting like it hurts. Delanie did awesome through the whole thing. But when we got done and put her in the car she wanted her cast back on, go figure. I put it in her room and she points it out to me everyday.

Delanie's trip to ER

Delanie went to the ER on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. We were blowing bubbles in the front yard and she was chasing them and fell. She usually never cries when she falls but she did this time. She wouldn't stand on her right leg at all. I took her to Progress West and they did and x-ray, there wasn't a radiologist to read the x-ray and the the Dr. couldn't see a break but to be on the safe side they put a half cast on it from the toes to above the knee. She was so good the entire time. She didn't cry for the x-ray or the casting. All the nurses and Dr. couldn't believe how good she was. The next day her pediatrician sent us to a pediatric orthopedic at St. John's Mercy. He said more than likely there is a hairline fracture in the tibia bone below the knee. He put a new cast on that goes right below her knee. She will go back on June 11 to re x-ray and the DR. said more than likely you will be able to see the fracture then. I don't know if they will put another cast on at that time. Delanie is doing fine with it. It only took a day for her to get used to it and she is running with it. I new it wouldn't slow her down. I knew if either of them were going to break something I figured it would be her but not before she turned 2.

Kadin's trip to ER

Well Kadin went to the ER for the first time on May 2, 2009. He has a really hard time having Bowel Movements. He was in a lot of pain and trying to push for an hour. We had tried everything, juice, mineral oil, suppositories, Activia Yogurt everyday, raisins and so on. Well this particular day he pushed and pushed and still nothing. Well then we noticed he wouldn't bend his left leg. It was almost like he locked it up pushing so hard. I took him to Progress West and they did an x-ray of his belly and it was full. They still have no clue what was wrong with his leg. I now have started him on Miralax and so far it is working.

Kadin is doing very well. He is getting so heavy to carry. He is very laid back most of the time, but he sure hates it when sissy bothers him or takes his toys. He pulls her hair and screams. He is also going willingly to get his diapers changed. Everyone that knows his dad (Darrin) and sees Kadin says they look exactly alike.

If you tell her no she usually trys it anyway with an evil smile. She will go lay down to let you know she needs her dirty diaper changed. She is eating everything and getting lots of teeth.

Well Kadin and Delanie are growing up so fast. They are almost 19 months old and doing great. They had a child development appt. in Nov. and they both are doing better than their adjusted age. They did so good with the testing, everyone there was impressed. Kadin learned to climb onto the furniture in December and Delanie learned in January. They both say lots of words, mama, dada, mommy, daddy, bye bye, hi, hello, night night, ball, yes, no, down, tractor, go Cole, up, Kadin, Delanie, sissy, yum yum, & puppy, thats all I can think of now. They are just so fun and entertaining. Delanie is always smiling and she is the boss around here. She trys to take care of Kadin. At nap and bedtime she will go get Kadin's passy and horse and then get her blankies. Kadin is more of a loner. He likes to play by himself more, but I've noticed that changing more and more everyday. Last Wednesday Darrin stayed home with them in the evening and he said they sat facing each other playing together with a bucket of toys. Now we are just waiting for spring and can't wait to start playing outside again. Here are some more pictures. Hope you like.

Kadin loved all the gunk in the pumpkin. He was putting his hand in every pumpkin and carried gunk around like it was his new friend. Delanie didn't want to touch it at all and Cole whined about touching it. We had a really fun time. I think Kadin had the most fun though. He would go play with the toy trucks and then come put his hand back in the pumpkins.

On Monday, Oct. 6, 2008 we all went to the Pumpkin Patch. I think Kadin and Delanie had fun. They both really studied everything they saw. Delanie kept wanting to go in the little haunted maze and Kadin didn't want to leave the corn box. Cole had fun too but when we got home he had fever and ended up with tonsillitis.

15 Month Well Visit

Kadin and Delanie had their 15 month check up on Monday and Dr. Bob said they are perfect. Delanie had her first ear infection 2 weeks ago and it is all better. We did find out she is allergic to Amoxicillin though. On Friday Sept. 12 Kadin and Delanie started trying to walk a lot. They picked a good day because daddy was here to see. Kadin is doing so good at it, he will do circles around the couch now. Delanie is really good at standing up without holding onto something but she doesn't walk as far and as much as Kadin. Kadin finally beat his sister at something other than size. YAEH!! It is really fun to watch them watch each other and try to do what the other is doing. Kadin weighed 21 lbs. 10 oz. and 31in Delanie weighed 18 lbs. 9 oz. and 29 1/4in

A Few Updates

Kadin and Delanie are trying to take a few steps on their own now. It won't be long and they will be off running. Kadin has 7 teeth and Delanie has 8. Kadin has moved into a new big carseat and Delanie still needs to gain a few more lbs. before she is ready. They both try to say I Love You, it is so cute, they just stick their tongue out and make noise. Delanie is definitely a daddies girl and Kadin is a mommies boy. I hope everyone has a good Labor Day, I know we will. We will be going to Grants Farm because my MIL is going to be on TV for raising a lot of money for the MDA. It will be fun. I hope you enjoy these pictures, they are from yesterday and today, except the carseat pic.Kadin in his new carseat. He loves it.Silly girl, she did this all on her own and was very proud to show off. She must of learned this from aunt Mandi.

Well it has been awhile since I have been on here. Sorry everyone. I have been just busy playing with the kids and enjoying the great weather. A couple weeks ago Kadin did get the Roseola virus. He started out with fever and then got the rash. I did have to take him to get his blood drawn (twice) just to make sure there wasn't something else going on with him. It all ended up fine and we made it through it and thank goodness Delanie did not get it. We went swimming in a big pool a couple times this summer. Kadin was not fond of it the first time and Delanie loved it. The second time Kadin started to like it and he loved crashing cars with Delanie.

1 Year Update

Kadin and Delanie had their big 1 year well child appointment and it went great. They both got two shots and Dr. Bob is very happy with everything they are doing. We made it through the first year with only well child visits, I guess it does pay off staying confined in your own home, for the most part.

Kadin and Delanie turned one on June 13 and they have been off the bottle since June 18. They both did really well and never even noticed the difference. They love to push each other on their new push toys, it looks so cute. I'll have to get some video of it and put it on here. Kadin has 6 teeth and Delanie has 5 teeth. Kadin bit Delanie for the first time on July 5 for taking his pacifier. She will take it out of his mouth and act like she's going to give it back and then jerks it away, the whole time with an evil smile on her face. They both are so fun and entertaining, I couldn't imagine life without either of them.

This video is so funny. Delanie loves to crawl around with a towel on her head. Daddy is videoing and I love how she gets to the kitchen and is waving for daddy to follow her.

Delanie, you are one year old now. When you were born I knew you were going to be okay because you screamed from the time they took you out of my belly till they cleaned you up. When I seen you for the first time I thought how could someone so tiny make such a loud cry. You were tiny but mighty. You loved it when I would rub your head, if you were starting to cry I would rub your head above your ear and it settled you down. You had the biggest eyes and the cutest little nose. You moved, kicked, and flipped in my belly so much, I think Kadin was glad to be out. You wanted your own space, you would lay on your back with your arms and legs spread every chance you got. When you got home you only snuggled when you were asleep. When you were awake you were too busy being nosy and wanting to see everything. Now you are the same way. You don't stay in one place very long. You love to be center of attention and you make sure everyone is watching you. You always have a beautiful smile on your face and it always puts a smile on my face. You are my gorgeous baby girl and I am so blessed to have you. I love you with all my heart.

Kadin, you are one year old now. When I first seen you I knew in my heart you would be strong. You were my squeaker, you always made noise. You made noise while you were awake, asleep, getting changed, eating, no matter what you made noise. Even after you came home, I would feed you and the entire time you squeaked. You also took care of your sister, you were doing really well and was about to come home, but all of a sudden you decided to act out because your sister wasn't ready to come home. You made sure she was okay and made sure you both came home together. You are all about texture, you love to feel things and really study everything. You are serious and then all of a sudden you let out a funny laugh and face. Kadin you are the most precious boy and I am so proud of you already. We are very blessed and I love you with all my heart.

Wow, my sweet babies are one year old now. This past year has flown by so fast. They had a wonderful party with lots of family and friends. They got really cool gifts and we all want to Thank everyone who came to the party and for all the great gifts.

Delanie is so funny. She loves to be center of attention. I got her ears pierced on May 12, and she only cried a little. She patty cakes, waves bye bye, dances, and just started doing sooo big. She also loves putting towels, blankets, or anything on her head and then tries to crawl. We are just waiting for her to crawl into the wall. She sings the la la la song, says mama, dada, ba ba, bye bye, and night night. She is also pulling herself up on everything. She started on May 16. She has 4 teeth. When she is tired she will sometimes go lay in front of her bedroom door and wait for me to put her in her bed. If she puts her fingers in her mouth that is a sign that she is tired. I think she is a daddy's girl (sometimes) it just depends what kind of mood she is in. Only 5 more days till her birthday also Friday, June 13, 2008.

Kadin Update

Kadin is getting so big. He has been pulling himself up on everything since May 14. He has 3 teeth. He cries sometimes when you tell Delanie no. He can do patty cake when he wants to. I think he jibber jabbers more than Delanie. He says bye bye, mama, dada, night night, ba ba, and nana ( I think for grandma) Grandma is his favorite, his face just lights up when he sees her. We will need to get him a new car seat soon, he has about out grown the infant seat. He loves to be chased, he just giggles and tries to go as fast as he can. Only 5 days till his birthday. Trip to Illinois

On May 30, 2008 we went back to visit my family in Illinois. It is about a 4 hour trip and they did great. I stopped once for me to use the restroom and then when we got closer I stopped to get milk. On May 23, 2008 we went to Newburg, MO to see my nephew graduate from high school. He received a scholarship for the high jump in track, as you can see he is very tall, unlike the rest of us in the picture. His mom (my sister Tami) is standing in front of him. My other sister Tanya is holding Delanie. Then there is Shyan, Tanya's daughter and I am holding Kadin. The kids did really well riding in the car there, 3 hours.

Happy Mothers Day

I hope everyone had a great mothers day. I did. Kadin and Delanie stayed the night at mama and papa's house Saturday night and we went over there to hang out all day. My husband had the best gifts made for me, as you see in the picture I got a plate from Kadin and Delanie with their hand prints on them and Darrin also had one made for his mom. Darrin also wrote the poem on the plates. If you can't read it, it says Here's my little hands, You will always hold, no matter how big I get or no matter how old. Kadin is pulling himself up on short things and in bed. He's not cruising furniture yet though. Delanie learned to wave bye bye today. She is so amazing, we only tried it a couple times and all of a sudden she started doing it. They both say mama, dada, and bye bye. Today Kadin and Delanie are 11 months old. It is going by sooooo fast. I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Child Development Update

Well Kadin and Delanie had to go to their child development check up on Thursday and it went really good. They are both doing great and check out fine. I guess all preemies have to go to these check ups. I do have one complaint about the place though. All the toys were not clean at all, they were disgusting. Especially in the waiting room. I wonder why the state don't inspect these places like they do daycares? I hope they send me a survey, because I will let them know. At the end of the visit a Dr. comes in the room and tells you how well your kids did, and at the end when he was telling me I am doing everything right he actually started tearing up and getting really emotional, it kind of caught me off guard. I guess maybe cuz he sees a lot of babies that have problems and he felt happy for us. He was really nice.
Delanie can patty cake now and Kadin is getting his eye teeth. I don't have any pictures with this post, but later tonight I plan on taking some good ones to put on here. So be sure to check soon. To be Continued!

We have been so busy going outside and playing, I haven't had time to post anything. Kadin and Delanie are doing great. They play with each other and laugh at each other, it is so funny. Delanie is definitely the bully right now. I hope to get some videos on here to show how she runs right over him if he is in her way. We put them in the grass the other day and they did not like it at all, I have that on video also. After being in the fresh air they are so ready for bed at 8:00 pm. They get pj's on, drink a bottle, and straight to bed. Within 3 minutes they are out for the night. It's great. I couldn't be any luckier when it comes to nap and bedtime. Well I hope everyone else is enjoying the good weather.

Crawling Times Two

Kadin is crawling. He started crawling on March 31. And Delanie started real crawling on March 28. Since Delanie already was army crawling she went where ever she wanted. Kadin would only crawl to his bottle or to us. He had to be motivated. But that has already ended. He is everywhere and follows his sister. Last night is when he realized it was fun. He kept going in circles around the living room, and he would try to go fast and fall (as dad says He Spun Out). They are definitely keeping me on my toes.

I hope everyone had a good Easter. Kadin and Delanie sure did. Their awesome aunt Sheila took them to the mall and had their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and nobody cried. As of yesterday 3/28/08 Delanie is officially crawling. She tries to follow me everywhere. Poor Kadin is still rockin. I tried coaxing him with a bottle and he just rocked and cried. But Kadin is trying to talk and he babbles more than Delanie. He is also smiling a lot more, he loves it when Daddy comes home, his face just lights up and he giggles.

Nine Month Check Up

Kadin and Delanie had their 9 month check up with Dr. Bob on Monday and they both are doing wonderful. We got the ok to start some table foods. Dr. Bob also said Kadin and Delanie are the only set of twins he's ever had stay healthy from their 6 month visit to their 9 month visit. YES! We must be doing something right.

Kadin weighs 17 lbs. 7 oz. and he's 27 1/2 in. long

Delanie weighs 14 lbs. 8 oz. and she's 25 in. long

Kadin got his second tooth last week and it didn't seem to bother him.

Kadin and Delanie are 9 months old today. They are still staying healthy and very happy. Kadin got his first tooth on March 1. He still isn't crawling but he rolls enough to get where he wants. Delanie army crawls and is very fast. I think she will just run when she gets on her feet. Here are some new pictures. Hope you like. Oh I would like for you to comment when you are here. Good News

Today the parents as teachers lady came to our house and says Kadin and Delanie are doing what a normal almost 9 month old should be doing. She was also amazed at how Kadin takes a nap. I have this huge pillow from when I was pregnant (and extra-extra large bobby) and I put it on the livingroom floor and lay Kadin's head down on it and give him his passy and blanket and he goes right to sleep. Delanie still goes to her swing for naps. Then my SIL (Jimmie) and my brother (Rodney) came over to visit. It was nice having an adult to talk to today, since my husband has been working out of town since Wednesday. Well he will be home soon so better go.

Kadin and Delanie are 8 months on the 13th. Kadin weighs 16 lbs. 4 oz. and Delanie weighs 13 lbs. 7 oz. Delanie got her two bottom teeth on 2/23/08. I was feeding her breakfast and she kept biting the spoon, I put my finger in her mouth and felt 2 little teeth. I was really surprised because she wasn't really crabby and no fever. She is all over the place. She doesn't sit still at all, she can get to anything she really wants. Kadin can get to anything also but he is content to stay and play with toys around him. They are both starting to like the green baby food, and actually it is probably their favorite now. I still give them applesauce for their fruit at supper time and it has really helped Delanie with her acid reflux. Hopefully we will be taking them off Zantac soon. Oh and I need to Thank God for keeping our babies healthy during these winter flu months. I really believe the RSV shot and keeping them out of public places is working. When will spring get here? Can't wait to just take them outside at home.

Well it's the new year. Kadin and Delanie still healthy and having fun hanging out at home. They don't go many places, usually only mama's and Aunt Sheila's. They do get a couple visitors, the parents as teachers lady, the home health nurse to get the RSV shot, uncle Ben, aunt Tan, and cousin Shyan. I have been getting out one evening a week to go play washers, it is so nice!!!! Darrin has been doing a great job staying home with them and getting them fed and put to bed. I don't know what I'm going to do when washers is over. I'll think of something.

December 2007 First Christmas

We celebrated Christmas this year with lots of family. Kadin and Delanie really are still to small too understand but I really enjoyed it. It was my first Christmas as a mommy. They are Six Months old and Delanie weighs 11 lbs. 12 oz and Kadin weighs 14 lbs. 15 oz. I think Cole enjoyed having Christmas with them also, he got to open their presents for them.

Most of my family lives in Robinson, Illinois so we decided to take the babies and show them off before they got too big. It normally takes 31/2 hours and this time it took about 41/2 hours. The babies were great the entire trip. Kadin slept the entire way and Delanie slept a total of 40 minutes, the rest of the time she looked around and sucked on her fingers. She was making all kinds of slurping noises. We stayed at my aunt Gayla's house and most of the family (aunts, uncles, and cousins) came over that Saturday and we had a great dinner and fun hanging out. Kadin and Delanie loved getting a little spoiled and they both slept through the night even though there was Karaoke going on in the next room.

October 2007

We've just been hanging out. Delanie's favorite spot is in the corner of grandpa Dick's old chair. She looks like a little doll sitting there. Kadin is really getting attached to his little blankie. They went to the doctor on 10/22/07 for routine well visit and Delanie weighed 9 lbs. 9 oz. and 20 3/4 in. Kadin weighed 13 lb. 2 oz. and 23 1/4 in. They are both liking their Bebe Seat and doing really good at holding their head. Kadin is so serious and Delanie loves to smile. They are still sleeping all night and I love that!! They won't be going Trick or Treating this year, but they did get some Halloween clothes from aunt Sheila. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

They are finally home and it is great. My MIL stayed with us first and thank goodness. She is the best MIL anyone could ask for. At first Kadin and Delanie slept together in their cradle that my FIL made. This was the first time Kadin and Delanie slept together since they were born. There were a lot of late nights and feedings but for the most part everything went smoothly. The second week my brothers wife stayed with us and helped. I was pretty tired but we made it. My stepson Cole, was so excited when they came home. He is with us part time and he wanted to stay extra time, he was great with them. We were taking them to the Dr. every month to get check ups and on track with immunizations and every visit went so good. They were growing and staying healthy. I started a routine at bedtime, change diaper, put pj's on, swaddle as tight as I could, feed, and straight to bed. At their September Dr. visit they were put on Zantac and cereal in their formula. From then on they have slept all night, from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am. This is when dad and I started to become our selves again.

Hospital Stay

First Day at Home

Kadin and Delanie were born at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis Missouri. I am so glad that is the hospital we chose when I had to go on bedrest. Kadin and Delanie both were on room air for 2 days. Kadin had IV feedings for 8 days. and Delanie had IV feedings for 9 days. Then they started the gavage feedings for 12 days. Both started bottle feedings on 6-26-07. I went to see them everyday and hold them during feedings. It was amazing how fast they were growing and progressing. Their primary nurse Michelle was wonderful. She really became attached and loved our babies. We still keep in touch with her. Kadin and Delanie got to come home on July 18, 2007. They did come home with a heart monitor and that made me feel more comfortable. I think all babies should come home with a heart monitor.

This is the story of my boy and girl twins, Kadin and Delanie. They were born at 31 weeks 6 days on June 13, 2007. I was in the hospital for two weeks on bedrest for contractions. No matter what they did the doctors couldn't stop the contractions. I wasn't getting any worse so the decided to send me home. We live an hour from the hospital and three hours after getting home my water broke, so right back to the hospital. A few hours later Kadin was born weighing 3 lbs. 13 oz. and Delanie weighing 2 lbs. 14 oz. Both healthy. Thank God, he was watching them along with my parents, they made sure things were going well.
